Last Ditch Layer Cake was created by Kelly, Hannah, and Darbie in order to unfreeze Saffron Falls after Mama P's selfish behavior at the Pluot Festival. However, the cake was so strong that it ended up breaking all curses in Saffron Falls, including Becky Quinn's and Gina Silvers'. Its first and only appearance was in Just Add Pluots.

Story[edit | edit source]

After Mama P freezes the town, the girls go to the cookbook for help, but it just flips to a blank page. Darbie says that maybe it wants them to create their own recipe. They go to Mama P's and review their knowledge of the spice families. Unfortunately, they find out that if they cook Lapsus, Werpoes, and Taurian in the same recipe, it would not work because all three spices would come into contact with each other, causing the recipe to do nothing. TDarbie suggests that instead, they cook a layer cake so that the spices would not be able to touch each other. To save time, each of them cooks their own layer. After completing the cake, they name it the Last-Ditch Layer Cake.

They go back to the Pluot Festival, where everyone in town stands frozen in place. But before they take a bite, Ms. Silvers asks the girls to use her Morbium Shadow Root, but they decide they don't want it because they believe in their cake. The girls eat the cake and the spell on the town breaks. But the spell is so strong that it breaks all curses. In result:

  • Grandma Quinn can speak again,
  • Ms. Silvers can play piano in public,
  • and Chuck Hankins is returned to Saffron Falls
