Last-Ditch Layer Cake was created by Kelly, Hannah, and Darbie O'Brien in order to unfreeze Saffron Falls after Mama P's selfish behavior. However, the cake was so strong that it ended up breaking all curses in Saffron Falls, including Becky Quinn's and Gina Silvers'. Its first and only appearance was in Just Add Pluots. It is also mentioned again in "Just Add Time Travel" in the mid-1970s (see below)

Story[]

Season 1[]

After freezing the town, the girls go to the cookbook. But when it starts flipping to a blank page, Darbie thinks that it wants them to create their own recipe. So they go to the spice pantry and review their knowledge of magic families. When Kelly states that if they cook Lapsus, Werpoes, and Taurian altogether, they would react differently and fail. Darbie requests to cook them separately and it's a good idea. They decide to bake a cake and seperate each family into different layers.

They go back to the frozen Saffron Falls. But before mixing, Ms. Silvers asks Kelly to use her Morbium but denies it because she believes in their cake. They name it Last-Ditch Layer Cake before eating. They eat the cake and the spell on the town broke. Then all curses broke. In result:

  • Grandma Quinn can speak,
  • Ms. Silvers can play piano in public,
  • Chuck Hankins is back.

When Grandma Quinn realizes if all curses are broken, Chuck is back and no one is safe.

Season 3[]

In an alternate universe, when The OC’s figured out a way to free Chuck Hankins, Becky Quinn created this recipe and freed him. Once he returned, he created a spell to free his sister, Rose Peizer. And in order to do that, he had to sacrifice Becky.
