Becky-and-The-Traveler

Grandma Quinn and the Traveler

The traveler is the woman who appears to be the physical manifestation of the cookbook. This was obtained by her consuming 500 morbium seeds. After consuming all of them, she became the physical manifestation of the book and stays permanently immortal, feeding on cookbook users in order to stay alive. She wanders a cursed forest and appears in cookbook users dreams.

Appearance[]

The Traveler has shoulder length, wavy brown hair. Her eyes are a soft gray and her skin is a fair peach color. She is usually seen wearing a yellow canvas jacket over a dark blue button-up shirt or blouse paired with light jean pants. She also wears a pair of light brown utility boots on her feet along with a walking stick of some sort. Her outfit matches the color of the book.

Personality[]

The Traveler is very wise and serious, but friendly to the right people. She is very adamant about her job of the guardian of the Cookbook and will go to extreme measures just to ensure its safety. She is also very mysterious and holds many secrets. However, she's willing to help out and answer any questions of the current protectors of the book.

History[]

The Traveler is the Cookbook. Her origins are unknown, but she's been around since the ancient times. According to the databook, she consumes cookbook users in order to pregnate herself, so she can give birth to herself in order to live forever.

Fifty years prior to the start of Just Add Magic, The Traveler resided in the Cedros Forest, aka the cursed forest. There, she found Becky, Gina and Ida who had gotten separated from the rest of their class on a field trip. She gifted the girls the Cookbook, and told them to use it wisely. She also gave them each a Morbium Shadowroot seed, that when fully grown, is used to amplify any recipe's effects a thousand times over. After the encounter, the girls most likely went back and consulted The Traveler if they ever had a question about magic. The Traveler even gave Becky a specific recipe only to be used by her if she ever needed The Traveler's guidance.

Kelly, Darbie and Hannah meet The Traveler soon after they discover the Cookbook in Kelly's attic. The Traveler was portayed as a rat and was quite scary. The Traveler was able to communicate with the girls through dreams and could talk to them through the barriers of space and time itself, as evident when The Traveler saw Kelly when she used the If These Walls Could Taco. In order to wipe Chuck's memory, The Traveler gave up her physical body. She know floats amongst the cursed forest, and her consciousness remains in the book.

Relationships[]

The Traveler and the OC's first met when Rebecca, Gina, and Ida went off the trail on a field trip in the Cedros Forest. There, the Traveler granted them access to the Cookbook, warning them that the book may bring them closer together or tear them apart instead. When the book eventually tore Rebecca, Gina, and Ida apart, and they started cursing each other, Rebecca threw the book over the falls, an action that Gina and Ida were not approved of. Many years later, the book moved onto Kelly Quinn, Rebecca's granddaughter. When Rebecca found out, she pleaded with the Traveler to stop the book from reaching her family. However, the Traveler told her that it was not hers to give anymore. Resorting to burning the pages, Rebecca unintentionally cursed herself instead.

Kelly and the others first heard of her when they stole Merwaldian White Cocoa Nibs to counteract the Merwaldian Black Cocoa Nibs. They then met her when they used If These Walls Could Taco to find out about the time Charles Peizer was introduced to Magic. She visited them a second time in their dreams, warning them about Rose.
